I'm in Hollywood - no, a courtroom - no, Hollywood - no ... oh, where am I? On jury duty.
Often, each side would go for the jugular on the other’s witness but I didn’t understand the reasons. Sometimes they’d really get on someone for not calculating something. But I couldn’t see any expectation of why we would’ve expected them to calculate it. Kind of like if I were on the stand for breathing and one of them pursued this:
“You went outside and you did not count the molecules of air out there to make sure there would be enough air for you to breathe, is this correct, Ms. J.?”
“Well, I didn’t think I should have to do that. I’m on Earth and so far there is still enough air for us to breathe.”
“But you didn’t do that, did you Ms. J.?”
“Well, I didn’t think I had to because I had never even come close to having to in any one of my many days on this planet so far.”
“But for the record, you did not count them, did you, Ms. J.?”
“Umm, no, I didn’t do that.”
