The witness repeatedly told the attorney that he knew the rate of flow of something by his own observation. The judge didn’t believe that this witness held a position to have known this and asked, “Would you know this if the consulting company had not been there?”
Witness: Yes.
After some hesitation, the judge asked again: Did you learn through your own experience or did you learn through the consulting company?
The latter – through the consulting company.
The expression on this guy’s face didn’t give a clue that he realized he had just contradicted himself. He was definitely a PR man although he said that wasn’t his job. He could sure bumble along.
