If your data comes in at a different scale and basically is some thousands of times larger than what you asked for, go to your original file and draw a rectangle around it in a size you can easily remember (round numbers).

Try the import again. If it comes in large, select all your data, lock it to keep it proportional, set the width or height to the rectangle dimensions, position your data in your workspace, remove the rectangle, and go.
