depron is a great laserable foam that I haven't yet seen anyone use in the lasers. it cuts with very little heat and the material would fit together well to build architectural models.

for 0.107 inches thick, cut a rectangle 0.075 inches wide to end up with a gap big enough to allow another piece of depron to interlock.
